The United States is home to a vast manufacturing infrastructure, producing everything from foodstuffs and beverages to furniture, cars, books, kids’ toys, and more. But it’s not enough to simply produce those items; the United States is also home to a robust transportation network to deliver those goods everywhere, domestically and internationally. Many reliable couriers are in fact trucking companies for relatively short-distance deliveries of goods, and this is often the norm. But trucks are not the only option for hiring a reliable courier; some carrier companies instead deliver air and ocean cargo, and American air cargo often goes to islands, where trucks and trains cannot reach. These reliable couriers might also be ocean vessels of various sizes, and much of the world’s freight is delivered on board large carrier vessels. A reliable courier, meanwhile, can be hired for a smaller-scale delivery, such as an overnight cargo delivery from Miami to the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, the Bahamas, and other islands.
The Size of Air and Ocean Shipping
While truck deliveries represent a large share of American freight deliveries, these trucks cannot go everywhere, and especially in the context of delivering to and from the Caribbean, planes and seagoing vessels are the rule instead. And seeing how many clients demand fast and expert delivery from a reliable courier, it is hardly a surprise that these vehicles see plenty of work. IBIS World Research, for example, has found that the air cargo industry was once expected to generate some $75.4 billion in revenue by the end of 2013.In fact, the air cargo industry accounts for roughly 30% of the world’s shipment value. And the entire time, clients may enjoy a faster delivery of their items, since air freight services have tight control over the cargo shipping processes (due to those shipments being time-sensitive). A reliable courier is one with wings.
What about the ocean? Many goods are delivered around the world on the ocean’s shipping lanes, with enormous shipping vessels delivering millions of tons of cargo in distinctive, colorful shipping boxes. Expert calculations have shown that based on value alone, ocean vessels carry 53% of American imports and 38% of the United States’ exports around the globe. Many of the United States’ trading partners are across the Atlantic or Pacific Oceans, such as Germany, China, Japan, and Australia. These ships may be carrying foodstuffs, cars, electronic goods, steel, and other manufacturing raw materials. Planes only carry small amounts of cargo, relatively speaking, but a ship may carry a lot more.
Make or Order a Delivery
What should a person do if they want to deliver something to a location that a truck or a USPS vehicle cannot reach? Someone living in Miami, for example, may want to send items to a business located in the Caribbean, such as the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, or the Bahamas. In this case, the sender may look for plane-based deliveries, and they can find these options online. A sample search may be “overnight air delivery to Jamaica”, and this may show the client a local post office that can deliver packages to an airport for freight delivery by air. For larger shipments, this person may contact a trucking company that can load all the items in a semi truck, then that truck will deliver all the goods to the airport to load onto the plane. This may be done for large, wholesale loads of items, too much for a post office to handle.
These deliveries are often time-sensitive, and the sender may ensure that the delivery will definitely be made by a certain day, or even done by a certain time of day. Such as asking that the item arrive no later than midnight two days from then. Or, in other cases, a person on those island nations may place an order and request that it be delivered by air. And in many cases, this option may be automatic. The receiver may get an estimate of the item’s arrival time, and in some cases, that may be within 24 hours of when the order is placed. Ordering something for “overnight” shipping may mean that it arrives and is ready for pickup within 24 hours.
