But even though steel is an incredibly valued and useful commodity and resource all throughout the world, it is particularly valued and important (not to mention useful) here in the Untied States. In fact, the data more than backs this up, showing that this country is the number one importer of steel in the entirety of the world, importing as many as twenty seven billion dollars worth of steel over the course of just one single year – and in this one country alone!
We get out steel from many places all over the world. Canada, our neighbor to the North, is just one of them. In fact, even though we only import just over fifteen percent of our total imported steel from Canada, Canada, on the other hand, sends more than eighty five percent (eighty eight percent, to be more exact) of their steel to us. But we simply consume such a vast amount of steel that it is absolutely essential for the United States as a country to import steel from an ever widening number of different places all across the world.
There is certainly no doubt about it that steel is important all over the world – and especially here in the United States. Steel makes up a big part of many industries, and is useful in varying ways.
