5 Types of Custom Product Packaging

According to a recent article in Packaging Digest shows that consumer decision to buy a product is down to five seconds of visiting a retail shelf, this means that packaging design matters. Packaging will not only influence a purchase from a consumer, but it will also facilitate a product being successfully distributed. In most cases, products have a specific shape and size allowing them to be easily packaged and shipped without any damage. However, there are other extreme sized and shaped products that don’t fall on standard measurement, hence they’ll require customized packaging.

Custom product packaging comprises of different packaging approach such as hexagonal shaped boxes to poster boards with each of them designed to suit the product to be packaged and delivered. There are several types of custom packages and custom branded packages that are specifically designed for particular products.

1.Blister packaging
This is a very popular mode of packaging that allows an array of products to be packaged with unmatched flexibility. Blister packaging uses a high-speed custom thermoforming blister that quickly heats plastic seals and offers multiple product count packaging and unique custom designs. Most products with this type of package can be found near the cash register in a retail store.

2.Auto Bagging
Another form of custom product packaging is this auto bagging and it can be found in custom printed packaging or plain poly-bags. From a zipper bag, printed bag, a lip-n-tape bag to gusseted bag all of your retail packaging is highly secured for sale or shipment.

3.Folding cartons
Cartons are one of the oldest modes of packaging that have revolutionized overtime and now they come in different style, shape and size for a variety of packaging options. Folding cartons are the newest packaging design in the market and they’re a pretty functional in that they make your package stand out. Cartons are highly preferred by companies and institutions of education who seek some form of branded packaging promotion. They come in various finishing options such as the clear folding cartons that allow product showcasing for retail purposes.

4.Bottle and tube filling
This is last type of custom product packaging which is used to specifically store, package and distribute liquid products. They come is two options, either glass tubes of plastic.

Industrial packaging differs from retail packaging in both size and shape of packaging. However, companies in advertising programs can use packaging as a means of pushing their brand and reaching new markets. One common example is customized packaging where boxes, bottles or bags feature their company logo. Killing two birds with one stone, they get to distribute their goods from one place to another and at the same time advertise their products.
