Parking lot sweeping services are a lot more important than we think they are. In fact we probably don’t think about parking lot cleaning at all. They only time it crosses our mind is when a lot is particularly dirty or street sweeper trucks are in our way. However, parking lot sweeping services and those that work in the industry are the unsung heroes of our community. They really get the importance of keeping our world clean in a way that the general public just doesn’t seem to understand. Let’s just take a minute and look at what our cities and towns would be like if parking lot sweeping services didn’t exist.
Litter would be everywhere
People don’t make a concerted effort to throw away their trash. There could be plenty of trash cans around and they just decide the ground is easier, for whatever reason. In fact, I was getting in my car one day in a grocery story parking lot and glanced over and happened to a catch a lady cleaning out her car. Except the contents are her car were being dumped on the ground; receipts, papers, tissues, even an old MacDonald’s bag were just being tossed to the wind. What made matters worse is that five feet away from her was a trash can. But, unfortunately people don’t care. They want their immediate areas clean but they don’t care about the world around them. Parking lot sweeping services come along and take of that for us. Without them, people’s litter would begin to overflow our streets.
Pollution would build up
We already have enough pollution in our world what with car emissions and other issues. The trash and debris that parking lots collect would eventually begin to decompose and the pollution would be carried off in the air, ruining our breathing areas even more. There are a lot of items that people throw on the ground because they assume that they are biodegradable or that the birds will eat them but that is not always the case. People are uninformed and end up throwing things out that pollute our environment if they are cleaning up pretty soon.
Water sources would become contaminated
Without street sweepers, the trash and litter that is thrown on the ground would eventually make it’s way to the storm gutters which are connected to our water drinking sources. There is only so much that can be done to purify and take care of the water that we drink. Without cleaners there is a very good chance that we eventually wouldn’t even have a water source that we could drink from and remain healthy. It would be full of all kinds of trash, chemicals and waste; much like third world countries.
The city would look terrible
Besides all the logistics of trying to keep a place clean, if we didn’t have professional cleaners in our towns, the place would look awful. Picture it: bottles and can rolling in the street, animal and possibly even human waste in the middle of the walkways, papers, bags and wrappers blowing in the wind. Not only the water would become contaminated but our air and our city in general would be a terrible place to live. There would be no way that anyone could be proud of their city. It would be a place that everyone would be trying to leave, rather than somewhere to make a life and a future for the family.
There should be a special place in our hearts for parking lot sweeping services now that we have taken a glimpse at what the world would be like without them. It can be frustrating not being able to park certain places at certain times because of cleaning services. It can also be annoying to be stuck behind on the these slow sweeper trucks. However, whenever that happens, just remember this article and think about what life would be like if they weren’t around. If the worst that you have to do is move your car and wait to go around a sweeper, then you have it pretty good in comparison. If it weren’t for them, you probably would not even want to leave your house.
