Flex Hoses
Flex hoses are thinner single-ply hoses. They are not well suited to handle vibration, heat, and other tough conditions from mechanical components. They have smaller corrugation which makes them less flexible. However, this feature makes it easier to use exhaust flex pipes with simpler equipment. Flexible connectors absorb movement in the exhaust piping system.
Flex hoses are designed to absorb engine vibrations that have low amplitude and high frequency from the exhaust piping. Corrugation in the flexible part of a bellow or flexible connector creates turbulence. This turbulence leads to pressure on the device.
