Here in the United States, the industry of transportation has grown considerably over the course of recent years. It’s not any kind of surprise, after all, as the demand for this industry – especially the trucking part of this industry, to get just a little bit more specific – has continued to grow alongside of it, even ahead of it. From pharmaceutical logistics to industrial machinery transport services, there are many things that the transpiration and trucking industries of the United States now cater to and service on a regular basis.
This can be seen in the data that has been collected on the subject. There is no doubt about it that this data clearly shows a steady increase in cargo not only already happening but likely to continue on into the future as well. In fact, already 15 million tons of cargo were being transported back in the year of 2015, now as many as four full years in the past. By the time that we reach the year of 2040, however, now only just a mere two decades away, this number is expected to reach nearly 19 million tons of cargo in that same span of a single year.
And it’s not just the amount of cargo that’s growing, but the value of it as well. Again, this is something that is projected to only continue to increase in the years ahead of us, the years that are to come. In fact, the same year of 2013 had a single ton of cargo worth about $882. By the time that we reach the year of 2040, however, this is expected to increase considerably. By this year, again only just about two decades in our future, the total worth of a single ton of cargo will have exceeded $1,375 – and might even continue to climb from there on up.
There are a number of reasons that the growth of the transportation industry, particularly in aspects of trucking, has taken off in recent years. For some things, the demand is just higher than ever. For pharmaceutical logistics services, this is very much the case, as pharmaceutical logistics services are truly in more demand than ever before. But pharmaceutical logistics services are certainly not the only thing that is on the rise.
In addition to pharmaceutical logistics services, as important as pharmaceutical logistics services are, is the growth of the trade show. Trade shows occur all throughout the country nowadays, with more than 200 convention centers location in the continental United States alone and hosting a considerable number of various trade shows on a yearly basis. In most cases, transportation services and various trade show shipments will be going to the states of California, Florida, and Nevada, as these three states have more convention centers than anywhere else in the country. California and Florida both have 20 convention centers that are currently operational, and the state of Nevada follows very close behind with 19 of them, which is still quite impressive in its own right, to say the least.
Of course, more has spurred on the growth of the transportation industry than the need for trade show logistics and even pharmaceutical logistics. After all, the growth of the e-commerce has changed not only much of the United States as we know it, but much of the world as we know it as a whole. And e-commerce has really taken off quite impressively indeed over the course of recent years. Online shopping is hugely convenient, so it’s ultimately not really a big surprise that more people than ever partake in it on a regular basis. For many people, online shopping allows them to streamline their day, something that can ultimately make a huge difference in their overall quality of life. In some cases, partaking in e-commerce and online shopping can even be considerable for saving money as well.
Here in the United States, the industry of transportation (and particularly of trucking) is hugely important indeed. In the years that are to come, even in recent years, this importance is only likely to continue to grow as the industry experiences rapid growth itself.
