These HVAC cooling towers function by disposing of or rejecting unwanted and unnecessary heat from a chiller, keeping the temperature in the home ideal and comfortable. This sort of technology may not be popularized world-wide, but in developed nations that experience routine sweltering weather, such as the southern United States, some might say that this technology is an absolutely necessary staple of modern life. As important as they are, though, air conditioning systems are not the only place that these wet cooling towers can call home.

One last place that these cooling towers find use is in power plants. These hyperboloid towers are most often associated with nuclear power plants, but they can also be found in chemical and industrial plants.
